Steven Pribramsky

Steven Pribramsky
The host of Key West Business World, Steven has vast experience in the financial sector.
Steven Pribramsky grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Ill. He majored in Accounting at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a Major in Finance.
Pribramsky received his Certified Public Accounting designation in 1987, in Illinois, and his Chartered Financial Consulting designation in 1989. He is currently is enrolled in the MBA program at the University of Phoenix.
In 1989, 1994 and 2002, Pribramsky was named to the Who’s Who of American Business Advisors.
While attending Marquette University, Pribramsky worked for the international accounting firm of Arthur Young and Company. Upon graduation, he entered the employee benefit field with Comprehensive Benefit Consulting Group, Inc. (CBCG) in Northfield, Ill.
In 1989, Pribramsky was promoted to the position of president of CBCG, and became a minority shareholder.
In 1994, CBCG was sold to Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Pribramsky moved back to Milwaukee to serve as an officer of the company, and the director of Pension Services.
Realizing that a large corporate officer position was not consistent with his career plans, Pribramsky returned to Chicago, where he founded Primary Financial Management, Ltd. This company eventually grew into a full-service, financial planning and financial services company, with five offices in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
Pribramsky sold it to a small national insurance company in 1999, by which time, the company counted over 100 employees and financial services representatives on its rolls.
In 2000, Pribramsky relocated his family to Key West, Fla., where he had purchased a small accounting practice, with some 180 business and individual clients. Today, the firm of Pribramsky & Zuelch has grown to meet the needs of more than 1,000 clients, making it one of the largest accounting companies in Key West.
In September of 2004, Pribramsky expanded his accounting practice by opening a satellite office in Boca Raton, Fla.
Expanding his horizons further, Pribramsky became, in January of 2005, a regular contributor to National Public Radio’s “On the Money” program with Steve Pomeranz. Pribramsky currently appears on the show at 6 p.m. every other Sunday and Wednesday, at WXEL 90.7 FM.
By mid-2005, Pribramsky created Key West Business Brokers, L.L.C., a joint venture between Elegant Florida Living, L.L.C., a real estate brokerage company headed by Pribramsky’s wife Robin, and the consulting side of Pribramsky and Zuelch. The new enterprise was formed to assist clients in purchasing and selling Key West businesses.
So far, 2006 has been an active one for the Pribramsky family.
In February, Steven and Robin purchased Reed Appliances, a 32-year-old business that is the largest retailer of its kind in the Keys.
Robin became the president of the company, while Steve elected to become the company’s Chief Financial Officer.
April saw the creation of Key West Business World, a radio talk show featuring Steven Pribramsky’s live interviews with leading local business figures, such as Richard Hatch of Blue Heaven Restaurant, and Chris Shultz of Phantom Press. The program is “an attempt to get at the stories behind the headlines,” according to Pribramsky. The format employs a team of four experts who explore legal, financial, real estate and tourism issues in Key West. It airs at 9 a.m. Saturdays on WKWF 1600 AM.
And in May, Steven and brothers John and Mike Vagnoni purchased the Ambrosia Guesthouse on Fleming Street, an ambitious joint venture that marks Pribramsky’s first major foray into the Key West hospitality industry.
Though Pribramsky keeps busy dividing his time between these three diverse businesses, he has also taken the time to serve his community on a civic level. He was a member of the board of the Montessori Children’s school from 2000-present, and has served as its president for the past two years. He has also served for four years on the board of the Florida Keys Children’s Shelter, where he currently serves in the role of vice-chairman.
Steve’s 14-year-old-son Kevin is a freshman at Key West High School, who works regularly at Reed Appliances. In February of 2006, Steven and Robin were blessed with the birth of their first son, Ethan.
The Pribramskys live in Old Town, Key West and enjoy traveling abroad in their free time.
